With lots of potentials across Africa and the world at large, the Nigerian gospel music industry keeps growing and gaining grounds. With tons of amazing music talents to producers and song writers, the trail has been blazing in the gospel music scene. The growth and acceptance of Afrobeats is gradually seeing a huge positive shift.
The evolution of afro beats in the gospel music industry has been quite immense and commendable too. With the emergence of the new school artist like Protek, Okay sokay, Nkay, Password, Limoblaze, Marizu etc, the growth of the afro-sound has skyrocketed in a tremendous manner.
These artiste have continued to grow with very little support from the A-list gospel artiste. Ada-Ehi however has proven to be an exception to this claim. The Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, recording and performing artist of FreeNation INC & Loveworld record is one artiste who has carved out a niche for herself in the industry over time being one of the very few who supports the afro-sound in the gospel industry after the release of her hit-single ’BOBO’ in 2012. Ada’s major interest and sound switch was seen in her single ‘Like Dis’ .
She has been recognized as one of the biggest proponent of the new-school and afro sound in the gospel scene. Her recent feature on Limoblaze’s recent single ’OKAY’ which premiered on the 18th of September 2020, Ada- Ehi has pulled every string possible in supporting this song apart from lending her vocal prowess on the song, she furthered promoted the song on social media posting and reposting snippets and covers of the recent hit single. Many think the amount of support she has given to this song is as a result of the fact that it was released on her birthday but on the flip-side Ada is a very supportive artiste.
Prior to her feature on Limoblaze’s ’Okay’ she was featured on ’Fiasco’ a song of victory by gospel sensation Password. The song was released on the 3rd of July, Ada’s contribution in promoting this song is quite commendable, from posting on Instagram to facebook and making dance covers.
Ada celebrated her birthday in grand style and the boat cruise was graced by major afrobeat gospel artiste like marizu, limoblaze, Nkay, and lots more super stars graced the boat cruise party. This is another evidence of the love she has for the new gospel sound.
Her strong support for the afro-sound in the gospel music industry is unique as we see very few A-list artist do this. Alas, this might be the sign of tremendous growth and change in the industry.
