2021 the year after the lock-down was a little tough for the Afro Gospel industry as live performances and touring were limited. The Artiste however adapted to this change in full capacity, leaning more into the digital space to influence music consumption and even discovery.
The gospel industry witnessed an array of talents emerge in the past year. The introduction of the Afro sound and now Amapiano in gospel music has continued to pave way for acts Proteniks, Limoblaze, Gaise Baba, Angeloh e.t.c. and the rise of acts like Rehmahz, Marizu etc. 2022 promises to be an even more exciting year for the Afro Gospel music scene already basking in an abundance of sounds.

Greatman dominated the gospel music scene in 2021 and there’s no debating that. Signed under Same Energy, helmed by Dr Foy. From starting the year with a year with a hit song titled ‘Energy’ (arguably one of the biggest Afro gospel songs in 2021) to releasing his first body of work in the last five years titled ‘Energy EP’ which was released on 18th June 2021 is Greatman Takit’s first project in 5 years. Limoblaze is one of the Afro gospel artists catching the attention of many with his style of music. He launched 2021 with a single titled ‘Mind’, the visuals for this song has more than 300k views on youtube. Asides having significant international features, his 2021 album was a major statement for the Afro gospel scene.
Limoblaze keeps moving the culture internationally and announcing the Afro Gospel movement to the world. His recent engagement to His fiancee, is surely a motivation for Limoblaze as he released a Love song titled ” Loving you’ and also made his first attempt on a Drill track.
2022 will be eventful, as for Limoblaze it will be a time for more drills and Love songs.
Rehmahz is one afro gospel artist that deserves lots of credit. He puts so much into his art and embraces the Art of collaboration. After strings of collaborations that saw the singer become a sensation.
In 2021 he made a collaborative project with A’mose and Obareengy and they were great. His latest single ‘Satisfy’ ft King Dmusic has garnered 10,000 plus streams on spotify in less than five days which is major for the artiste, to crown it all, he got his first international award as Media choice WOW gospel artiste of the year an award from Gospel Touch Music Awards 2021.
The name Rehmahz is fast becoming a household name in the Afro gospel scene andin 2022 we don’t envisage anything less.

Sensational Artist and music producer, Prinx Emmanuel is definitely one to look out for in 2022, He and his band Elixir made major moves in 2021 creating musical masterpieces, one of which went viral because of the unique Amapiano sound.
His annual concert Reverb, was mind blowing as it was way bigger than the first edition, some of the guest appearances were Oxlade, Tim Godfrey, Banky W and others. All indications are pointing to the fact that a project is coming in 2022 and you know when it’s Prinx it’s going to be hot.

She is in this list because she is a force to look out for come 2022.
