The project “Akam Ubak’Usen” by Bobby Friga is a collection of Ibibio morning devotional praise songs and is a tribute to the Akwa Ibom/Cross River people’s rich cultural heritage and their daily devotion to God.

The songs on this project will likely bring back happy memories for many of us of our parents and grandparents singing these lovely songs as they met with God each morning. The melodies and rhythms serve as a reminder of the straightforward yet effective ways in which they managed to stay in touch with the Divine despite all of life’s difficulties.
